Cancellation of the Japanese-Language Proficiency Test (JLPT) in July 2020

Cancellation of the Japanese-Language Proficiency Test in July 2020

Thank you for your continuous interest in the Japanese-Language Proficiency Test.

Based on the current situation of coronavirus infections around the world, the Japan Foundation has decided to cancel the test for July 2020 around the world.

Although there are differences depending on the country or the region, the infection situation of the coronavirus has not shown any signs to settle down, and the spread of infection is still concerned in some areas.

To implement the Japanese-Language Proficiency Test, many examinees and related persons, such as test proctors have to stay in a closed space for a long time. Even if we take infection prevention measures, it may not be possible to secure a sufficiently safe environment. Therefore, we decided that it would be difficult to conduct a fair and impartial test in a safe environment and decided to cancel.

Please contact Myanmar Association of Japan Alumni (MAJA) about exam fees.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
