Toys are an important part of everyone’s childhood, supporting both mental and physical development. In Japan, toys have taken many forms over time, from children’s playthings to decorative charms, protective talismans, and so on. The toy culture expanded significantly during the Edo period and has continued to evolve into a vibrant and well-structured industry today.

The Japan Foundation, Yangon (JFYG) is happy to present “OMOCHA: Japanese Toys Today,” an exhibition where visitors can explore and enjoy a wide range of contemporary Japanese toys in a fun and informative way. Admission is free, and no pre-registration is required to visit.
