Art and Culture Activities

Setsubun

4 Feb

Culture center is decorated with Setsubun theme for first 2 weeks of February. Oni masks along with beans were displayed on the desk while the explanation videos of Setsubun ceremony were shown on the projector screen for the visitors.

Basic Shodo Class: fifth week

11 Feb, 1 pm, 3 pm

In the fifth week, second last week of Basic Shodo class, Yume sensei continued the lesson of Kohitsu. After teaching how to write hiragana properly and beautifully in the first week, sensei taught how to write Katakana with pencil.

 

Judo Demonstration and Workshop

1 pm, 18 Feb

Japan Foundation, Yangon has been introducing not only Japanese language and culture, but also Japanese Budo (martial arts) culture through online talk events and martial arts demonstration events based on the saying of BunBu Ryodo (balance of pen and sword) for those who are studying Japanese culture and language.

This time, there will be a demonstration of Judo, a form of Japanese Budo, and a basic workshop will be held therefore interested participants can join and learn physically. The introduction to judo was done online with Fujita sensei on the Do Talk program, and this time Kubota sensei will be conducting a demonstration and workshop. Kubota sensei is a Judo instructor with 30 years of Judo teaching experience and has achieved Judo Level 6 Dan.

Kendo Club

On every Saturday, the Kendo Club continues to practice and do the club activities for beginner and senior classes. There are new club members who signed up for beginner class.
